Vincent Viktor Daniel was due on September 11, 2004 and actually born on September 12 at 0949. Yvonne is thought to have gained around 32 pounds while pregnant.
August 29,2005--Vincent tries to use forks and spoons with some sucess, although it is limited. He also combs his own hair (guess which pictures he did that for).
August 26,2005--Vincent now walks on his own. He can turn, look around, etc., as well as walk at least multiple steps without falling.
July 19,2005--Vincent "dances" to music by bouncing up and down or arm/hand movements.
July 16,2005--Vincent stands completely errect without falling or any support for prolonged periods of time. He also can climb both up and down stairs without problems.
June 14, 2005--Vincent's vocabulary is increasing, he now says "dada" and makes certain noises for certain things. Also, he understands many words and loves to shake his head for "no".
June 5, 2005--Vincent has played with multiple children around his age. He is playing more and more with different children; incidents that have gone well so far.
May 20, 2005--Vincent now says "mama" whenever he wants to be picked up (by anyone).
May 9, 2005--We tried to give Vincent his first whole Cheerio and strand of spaghetti, both of which he was able to eat without any issues.
April 24, 2005--Vincent now attempts to stand without support or holding on to something, although he hasn't yet been successful, thanks to a lack of balance.
April 23, 2005--Vincent now says "mamamamamama" whenever he is angry, sad, or upset in any way.
April 21, 2005--Vincent's first tooth is coming in, actually the bottom front two are both coming in at the same time.
April 19, 2005--Vincent is now able to climb stairs with little problems, but is watched while doing so.
April 7, 2005--Vincent now transitions from laying on his stomach, to a sitting position… one in which he is at a major slant and using his arms for support.
April 7, 2005--Vincent can stand, while holding onto something, for prolonged periods of time.
April 3, 2005--Vincent can now sit on his own, without falling, for prolonged periods of time.
February 25, 2005--Vincent likes to be on his stomach with his arms fully extended (no longer on his elbows).
February 20, 2005--Vincent begins to eat "regular" food for the first time, of which he likes cereal with Bananas.
January 16,2005--Vincent rolls over (sort of) for the first time on his own.
January 15, 2005--The Adventures of Vincent DVD has entered it's testing stage, trying to see everyone's reactions to it. (Update: comes out on Vincent's first birthday)
December 15, 2004-January 5, 2005--Vincent is in Pennsylvania visiting some of his aunts, uncles, and grandparents, while Daddy helps build a barn.
November 17, 2004--Vincent's sleeping habits have changed; he now sleeps from 2200 until atleast 0600, waking up at most once for a feeding. Thanks for the very useful advice, Mom and Dad!
November 15, 2004--After months of torturous sleep deprivation at the hands of Vincent, we undertook drastic measures to adjust his schedule (which was often times sleeping less than 7 hours in a day). It is on this day that we began to adjust his schedule.
September 14, 2004--Vincent was released from the Intensive Care Unit early in the morning and through much confusion, the dispatch papers that were to let us take Vincent home were lost and we were stuck at the hospital until 2100, when the frustrated and upset night staff (at the situation and the day staff), managed to muddle their way through a process new to them, and got us dispatch papers and let us go home.
September 13, 2004--Since it was the convention, Vincent was to be circumcised on this day. During the circumcision, however, complications aroused and he had to get some quick surgery to stop some bleeding and repair some damage. He stayed the rest of the day in the Intensive Care Unit. Also, it was discussed with us that Vincent had jaundice.
September 12, 2004--As per the hospital's orders, Yvonne didn't go in until she had had 12+ contractions in an hour several times. At 0200, we arrived at the hospital. At 0949 Vincent was born, weighing 7 pounds and 9 ounces, and being 20 inches long from the crown of his head to the bottom of his butt. He required some oxygen, but little else.
September 11, 2004--Although Yvonne had felt contractions on the 10th, they had stopped, only to resume in force on the 11th starting around 1300.
September 9, 2004--At a regular checkup, Yvonne was told that she was 2 cm dialated, 70% effaced, and the baby was -1 with its head down.
August 19, 2004--In a regular checkup, it was told to us that Yvonne was still 1 cm dilated, but was 50% effaced.
August 16, 2004--We went to the hospital after some minor bleeding and being instructed to do as such; everything was fine, but we discovered that the "pain in my side" that Yvonne constantly complained of was a contraction and she was found to be 1 cm dilated.
June 26, 2004--We took a Lamaze class in one day instead of having it over the course of a period of time because PVH only offered them once a month.
March 23, 2004--Yvonne was given an ultrasound in which we discovered that the initial date of conception given by the state, along with the due date, was wrong. At this time, the baby was 15 weeks and 3 days old.
February 27, 2004--We met Denise, a Nurse at the Colorado Nurse Family Partnership, for the first time; she would turn out to be a great help in many ways as she gave us help with all things baby.
January 28, 2004--Yvonne takes a pregnancy test with the state after an "at home" test came up positive; the state confirmed the results.
